Meet Arielle Bases

I am the granddaughter of German Jews who escaped to India from Nazi Germany and created a life in Bombay and rural Maharashtra. Turmeric and Marigolds is the true story of their lives based on recounted memories, letters, family photos, countless interviews, and my travels to Mumbai and Vada. I am an appellate attorney who specializes in immigration and indigent criminal appeals. My cases have been published in the California Supreme Court and the California and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal. I was born and raised in Southern California where I still reside with my husband, near my adult children.
